Mandeep Kotia started The Chai Place right here in Orangeville because she simply loves bringing people together over a great, comforting cup of tea. But truth be told, turning that big dream into a tiny cafe was terrifying at first. In those early days, standing alone in a quiet kitchen before sunrise, the sheer reality of running a business felt incredibly heavy.
Through the Hard Days
Building a business from scratch came with a steep learning curve and plenty of chaotic, exhausting hurdles. From wrestling with supply chains to surviving the non-stop physical grind of cafe life, Mandeep faced moments that truly tested her spirit. Instead of giving up, she poured extra love into her recipes and pushed forward.
A Neighborhood Home
Today, those quiet, uncertain mornings are a distant memory, and Mandeep couldn't be prouder of the warm, bustling hub The Chai Place has become. She's still back there brewing every pot with the same passion, but now she does it with a smile, surrounded by the laughter of regulars.
